Up for sale is a rare and unique vintage Seiko Triathlete men’s digital sports watch, reference S600-5020, produced during the 1980s as a special limited-edition collaboration with Schick Wet Shaving for the Japan Domestic Market (JDM). Individually numbered 1610 of 3000, this watch is one of a very small production run and represents a true collector’s piece, combining Seiko’s advanced sports-timing technology with distinctive Schick promotional branding. The watch is in full working condition, with all features and functions operating properly, including timekeeping, stopwatch, lap memory, and alarm. It is currently fitted with an aftermarket strap, as the original strap deteriorated with age. The watch shows signs of use consistent with its age. Seiko begins with Kintaro Hattori, who opened a shop selling and repairing clocks in Tokyo's Ginza district in 1881, at the age of twenty-one. He founded the Seikosha factory in 1892 to manufacture wall clocks, built Japan's first wristwatch, the Laurel, in 1913, and put the Seiko name on a dial for the first time in 1924. By mid-century his successors ran one of the most vertically integrated watch companies on earth, making everything from hairsprings to cases under its own roof.
